Journal meme:
1. Go into your livejournal archive. Here!
2. Find your 23rd post. I must admit I don't have the 23rd, because my lj can't last more than 1 page. *is sheepish* But the last one was on May 5, 2005.
3. Find your 5th sentence (or closest to it.) This is so much fun reading it.
4. Post the text of your sentence in this post along with these instructions. Hmm.
5. Tag 5 people on your friend's list. Er, whoever wants to do it. :)

| Duinn Fionn: "A Thousand Beautiful Things", "The Waters of March" |
[05 Oct 2004|01:08am] |
Duinn Fionn has a LJ username, geoviki. Her fiction is HERE. Yes, that's the writer of famous "A Thousand Beautiful Things" I'm talking about.
Few fictions I've read can be as beautiful as 'A Thousand Beautiful Things.' Just like the title, the story is beautiful. Other than beautiful, it's enjoyable and sometimes funny. When I was reading it, it made me warm me up inside.
A good thing in ATBT is that the author established H/D reltionship slowly. First friendship, then slowly changed into love. The relationship seemed natual and sincere and real. But the best thing is that she did the characterization very well. Everyone in ATBT showed an unique personality instead of acting completely out for the plot. That is one thing every writer should learn about, and geoviki learns well!
I like her Harry and Draco very much. I like Draco beautiful, and ATBT didn't let me down at all. But geoviki characterizes Seamus and Dean even better. I never pay much attention to Seamus or Dean in a fic, but ATBT made me start to do so. In ATBT, Dean was perfectly imperfect, and so are all of us.
BTW, geoviki is holding a disscussion about her fiction.

Just looked through my friends list and quite a lot of stuff is really good. So I'll put links here to remind myself.
Seven Minutes in Heaven by blue_amethyst
Ah, I love the atmosphere in it. And the unexpected ending.
In My Eyes by jamie2109
And Sometimes... by son_of_darkness
Summary: "You didn’t love him, you didn’t ever fool yourself into thinking you loved him. You didn’t even really like him, but you needed him."
*gasps*
Six Days at the Villa by rurounihime
Oh, I love this one a lot. rurounihime didn't explain what goes on in Harry's and Draco's mind, but showed it to us. The story is vivid, moving, and lazily slow. It hit me just the right way.
Please Wait by dacro
Another amazing drabble. The letter at the end of it has a subtle power that left me speechless.
Ten Thousand Forfeit Heartbeats by oxoniensis
Lotion by bittersplendor
bittersplendor is a new slash writer, but I already like her. Everything written by her is beatiful. I also like her Lightning, Thunder. bittersplendor made it a bit sad and hopeful at the same time, and so beautiful.
Updates:
LIKE GLASS Part 9 ¾ by penguin474
The atmosphere in 'Like Glass' is very beautiful and fragile, and I think it fit the title, just like the glass.

*squeeeeeeeee*
OMG, probably every h/d shipper had seen _hdcomic's works. They are soooooooo cute. I adore the Harry, Draco, and other characters, because hoestly, they are the cutest hp art I've ever seen. _hdcomic often made me say, "Awwww..." to my computer and made me a happy day. I strongly recommend everyone to see it!
Sadly, the comic had stopped updating because the school had started. *sigh* We'll miss you, _hdcomic. And thanks to bring so much joy to us and spread the h/d love to the world!

| Elani Chaice: 'Coveting Thy Enemy', 'Sweet Love, Renew Thy Force', 'Operation: Malfoy' |
[24 Sep 2004|12:24am] |
elani_chaice is one of my long-time favorite writers. If I recall correct, her profession is about English literature. That makes her works outstanding, I think. It's my observation that her works are all perfectly organized, and her writing skills are, well, simply GOOD. Since I'm studying literature now, I espically enjoy reading good literature works, and I definitly enjoy reading what she wrote.
Perfect organization is the best thing I like about her, but I also like her plots. The twists in 'Coveting Thy Enemy' and 'Sweet Love, Renew Thy Force' are surprising and fits the reality at the same time, which is exactly how I like it. Okay, I admit I'm obsessed with surpring plots. :D
Another thing I like about her is that she built characters well. That meant her Harry and Draco seems real, and other characters get personalities, too. In my experience in slash world, not too many writers could do that.
Below are the links to her website and her fanfiction on FF.Net.

| Cosmic: 'Time out of Place ', and 'The Depths of Winter' |
[22 Sep 2004|12:24am] |
bananacosmic is one of my favorite authors. Actually her name is cosmic. I've read her two harry/draco epics several times by now. The atmosphere in the two epics are warm , tender, and sweet, but not too fluffy. I especially like how bananacosmic slowly established the relationship between Harry and Draco. That made it sooooo real that I started to believe in h/d slash and finally became addicted!
I like her Draco and Harry. Her Draco is smart and proud but also needs help. Her Harry is generous and, of course, he is willing to helps Draco. Even though, bananacosmic still succeded in making sure that the relationship is not one-sided. I really like bananacosmic for it. Did I mention that I HATE one-sided relationship?
BTW, 'The Depth of Winter' describes a paralysed Draco. Such condition is rare in today's slash world. I guess that people don't like their beloved characters end up disabled. Well, I don't like that, either. But sometimes we really have to pay attention to disabled people and care about them, and 'The Depth of Winter' reminded me to do that.
Her website is here. Both TooP and TDoW can be found there.

| dahlia_777: 'The Silver Chain', 'Power Play' and 'The Ebony Box' |
[20 Sep 2004|10:42pm] |
dahlia_777, the author of 'The Silver Chain', 'Power Play', and 'The Ebony Box'. Her website is here, and her fanfiction can also be found at PSA.
The last two are actually the sequals to the first one. They can be described as playful. I don't read playful fiction too much, but her works are not just playful. She also wants to discuss something serious in the fiction.
I like her Harry and Draco, especially Draco. That is probably because I'm obsessed with Draco, but I think her Draco is complicated and so real and like a Slytherin and just sooo Draco.
The relationship between Harry and Draoc reaches a delicate balance, which is really rare in most fanficton. This is also an important reason I enjoy reading the three epics.
The twists in the fiction are also unexpected, and I just love suprising twists.
